Powder Farm Walk -   CANCELLED

Join the Hamden Land Conservation Trust for a guided Nature Walk  at Olin's Powder Farm in Hamden.  This is a leisurely walk through 102 acres of forest, lakes and trails abutting the Farmington Canal Greenway, led by Hamden Land Conservation Trust members.  We will look for birds as well as wildflowers while discussing the property's  history.  The property was used during World War II for munitions testing. Bunkers used for storage of  gun powder can be seen along the trails. Sponsored by The Hamden Land Conservation Trust and The Olin Corporation, this hidden gem is usually closed to the public.  Located on Putnam Avenue, 1/4 east of Dixwell Avenue.  Park at Stop and Shop and walk to the gate. Admission is free and open to all. Rain will cancel the event. For further information call 203-230-1718.    Directions to the Powder Farm can be found here.
