Powder Farm Walk May 4 1:00 - 3:30 PM
Join the Hamden Land Conservation Trust for guided nature walks at Olin's Powder Farm in Hamden. Leisurely walk through 102 acres of forest, lakes and trails abutting the Farmington Canal Greenway, led by members of the Hamden Land Conservation Trust. We will look for migrating birds as well as wildflowers, and discuss the property's history. The property was used during World War II for munitions testing. Bunkers used for storing gun powder can be seen along the trails. Sponsored by the Hamden Land Conservation Trust and Olin Corporation. Located on Putnam Avenue, ¼ mile east of Dixwell Avenue. Park at Goodyear Tire & walk to gate. The 5 lakes on this property are home to many species of birds and the trails are lined with wildflowers in spring. This hidden gem is normally closed to the public.

National Trails Day June 7 10 AM
Join us on a 5 mile hike on our "ABC" property.
This property is held as a conservation easement and consists of 51 acres of forest and brush. Park on Downs Rd.
