Rocky Top - A Group Effort

Pictureleft to right: HLCT President Jim Sirch, Rocky Top Neighbors leaders Roberta Mack and Tim Mack, and CFPA Land Conservation Director Lindsay Suhr
Thank you to everyone who has responded to our appeal to help cover the taxes and legal fees to protect Rocky Top -- a remarkable, 18-acre, wooded ridge that is home to the original Connecticut Blue Trail System. We are so proud and grateful to be part of this Hamden community that cares about open space! Huge thanks to the Rocky Top Neighbors led by Tim and Roberta Mack, who stayed the course during the years this beautiful woodland was threatened by development. Thanks too to the Connecticut Forest and Park Association, especially CFPA Land Conservation Director Lindsay Suhr, who helped make it possible for the Hamden Land Conservation Trust to become the permanent stewards of the property.

Thanks to a generous, anonymous donor, any gift made to the land trust toward this special conservation effort will continue to be matched 1:1 up to a total of $10,000 collected. Gifts of $30 or more include a year's membership in your local land trust.
